Every official GTA VI trailer and presentation, and what Rockstar showed
Official GTA VI media — two trailers and a 26-minute Extended Look — established most of what's known: the setting, the two leads, and open-world action in Leonida with both protagonists playable. What the footage plainly shows, and the line where frame-reading takes over.
Almost everything officially known about Grand Theft Auto VI traces back to a small set of official media, released by Rockstar through its own channels: two trailers, and one twenty-six-minute presentation. This is a recap of what that media actually established — described in words, with Rockstar's own uploads embedded below so you can check every description here against the source it came from. We don't host or re-cut anything: the players below are Rockstar's official uploads, served through youtube-nocookie.com, and nothing is requested from YouTube until you press play.
Verdict: Confirmed: official GTA VI media exists and is Rockstar-published, and it plainly shows the setting, the two playable leads, open-world action in Leonida, and — since the Extended Look — both protagonists under player control with switching between them. Anything extracted from the footage beyond what it plainly shows is not confirmed by it.
What have GTA VI's trailers confirmed?
The confirmed yield, plainly shown on screen:
- the setting — the state of Leonida, with Vice City at its heart
- the two playable leads, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, with Rockstar's marketing framing them as partners at the center of the story
- open-world action in Leonida, including driving and on-foot sequences
- both leads playable, and switching between them presented as a mechanic
Each of those is official because it comes from first-party media — what Rockstar itself chose to publish and plainly show — not from anyone's slowed-down frame or brightness-boosted screenshot.
How many GTA VI trailers are there?
For nearly three years this list was two trailers of roughly ninety seconds each. On 27 August 2026 Rockstar published "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look" — around twenty-six minutes, by a wide margin the longest official GTA VI media there is. Rockstar states it was captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5.
The length changes what the media can carry. Ninety seconds of cut trailer shows you a mood; twenty-six minutes of continuous play shows you a game running. What it added to the confirmed record above is narrow — both leads playable, switching between them — because most of what circulates about the presentation comes from individual accounts of watching it rather than from Rockstar stating it. What those twenty-six minutes did and did not settle has its own briefing, linked below.
Is everything in a trailer confirmed?
That distinction is the whole game with footage analysis. "Shown in official media" is the strongest kind of evidence short of Rockstar saying it outright — and with the media embedded above, that evidence is one click away rather than something you have to take on trust. "Read into the footage" — map theories from skylines, feature claims from split-second shots, system mechanics deduced from an animation — is community inference. Sometimes it's clever; it is never confirmation. Footage confirms what it plainly shows, and nothing past it.
The practical test: if a claimed "confirmation" only appears once someone slows the clip down and draws an arrow on it, it isn't confirmed — it's a theory with a timestamp.
A longer runtime does not soften that test. It widens the surface people can read into, which is why the confirmed yield from twenty-six minutes is shorter than most write-ups of it.
Is there a pattern to Rockstar's GTA VI releases?
New official material tends to arrive on Rockstar's schedule and around its own marketing beats, not on community-predicted timetables. Long silences between drops are normal for this campaign, and a silence is not a signal — it's just a gap. The Extended Look shows the drops are not all the same size either: after two short trailers, the third piece of media ran an order of magnitude longer. Each new drop gets the same treatment as the last — what it plainly shows joins the confirmed record, and what people extract from it gets labeled as the inference it is.
How much has Rockstar actually shown of GTA VI?
Three pieces of official media carry nearly the entire confirmed record of this game. That makes each one genuinely important — and makes it genuinely important not to claim more from the footage than it shows.
What changes this: The next official trailer or media drop from Rockstar's own channels. What it plainly shows will be added here; what gets read into it will not.
