What do prediction markets say about GTA VI's release date?

On 21 October 2026, Kalshi priced a GTA VI release by 30 November at 94 to 95 cents on the dollar and Polymarket at about 97%, and Polymarket priced a postponement past 19 November at 3.25%. A snapshot: prices change by the minute. The two platforms define a release differently, both earlier delays were priced as unlikely until Rockstar announced them, and our own ledger stakes were lower than the markets' prices. A price is traders' belief, not evidence: the date rests on Rockstar and Take-Two alone.

GTA VI comes out on 19 November 2026, and two prediction markets have been putting a price on that for months. The prices travel well in headlines and search results, and they are easy to read as more than they are.

Verdict: Confirmed: at about 17:40 UTC on 21 October 2026, Kalshi priced a GTA VI release by 30 November at 94 to 95 cents on the dollar and Polymarket at about 97%, and Polymarket priced a postponement past 19 November at 3.25%. Confirmed: the two platforms word a release differently, and neither lists a contract on 19 November itself as a release date. Confirmed: before each earlier delay the markets priced the old date as the likely one, and they repriced within minutes of Rockstar's announcement. Inference, High confidence: a market price is traders' belief, not independent evidence, so no price makes the date certain. The date rests on Rockstar and Take-Two alone. Vice Atlas takes no position on trading.

What do prediction markets say about GTA VI's release date?

That a release this autumn is close to certain, as of 21 October 2026. Both platforms list contracts that pay one dollar if GTA VI is released by a given date, so a price of 95 cents reads as roughly a 95% chance. This is what we read at about 17:40 UTC that day:

PlatformContractPrice readTraded in total
KalshiReleased by 31 October1 centabout 1.15 million contracts
KalshiReleased by 30 November94 to 95 cents (last trade 94)about 1.01 million contracts
KalshiReleased by 31 December95 to 96 centsabout 963,000 contracts
PolymarketReleased by 31 Octoberunder 1%111,666 USD
PolymarketReleased by 30 Novemberabout 97% (bid 96.5, ask 98.4)103,125 USD
PolymarketPostponed past 19 November3.25%876,314 USD

Those are Kalshi's and Polymarket's own figures. Kalshi counts contracts, each paying one dollar, and Polymarket counts dollars, so the last column compares badly across platforms. Kalshi also lists 1 July 2027 and 1 January 2028 at 98 cents.

This is a snapshot. Prices change by the minute, and the page states when it was read; the last section says when we will read again.

What are traders trading on?

On Rockstar's word. Kalshi's contracts pay if the game "has been released on a major platform (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Windows)" by the date, counted from the first US release on any of the three. It has to be a full release, not an alpha or beta, and the contract resolves Yes "if the announced release date has passed without any indication of a delay", in Kalshi's terms. Its named source agency is Rockstar Games.

Polymarket's contracts pay if the game is publicly available for purchase or download in the US by the listed date, 11:59 PM ET. Early access, betas, other pre-release availability and leaks don't count; a release on some consoles only does. Its sources are Rockstar and Take-Two.

Do Kalshi and Polymarket define a GTA VI release the same way?

Not quite. What we verified in their written rules on 21 October:

  • The cut-off matches. Both close their 30 November contracts at 11:59 PM ET on 30 November, and their 31 October contracts at the same hour a month earlier.
  • The definition doesn't. Kalshi counts a release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S or Windows and resolves Yes if the announced date passes with no sign of a delay. Polymarket asks whether the game can be bought or downloaded in the US.
  • Neither lists 19 November. No Kalshi release-date contract ends on 19 November. Polymarket's closest is a different question: whether the launch is postponed, which ends at 11:59 PM ET on 19 November. The nearest "released by" contract on either platform is 30 November, 11 days later.
  • Kalshi stops early. Its contracts close at the first 10:00 AM ET after the release, not at the cut-off.

The two platforms' 30 November prices, 94 to 95 cents on Kalshi and 96.5 to 98.4 on Polymarket, did not overlap when we read them. The rules we compared don't explain the gap, and we haven't tested how either platform would settle an edge case.

How did the markets react when GTA VI was delayed?

After the announcement, both times. On 2 May 2025, Polymarket's "GTA VI released in 2025?" contract was priced at 68.5% at 11:15 UTC and under 5% by 11:35, around Rockstar's post moving the game to 26 May 2026, which it put on X at 11:25 UTC. In the three days before, it had traded between 62% and 77%.

On 6 November 2025 Take-Two's results release moved the date to 19 November 2026. Polymarket's contract on a release before June 2026 sat at 61% until 21:05 UTC and was near 5% within the hour. Kalshi's contract on a release by 31 December 2026 traded at 87 to 89 cents the day before and at 70 to 80 cents through the next day. The delay had been reported for weeks by Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson, and the Polymarket contract still priced a release by the end of May as more likely than not.

Read that two ways. The markets were never blind: a 61% price leaves room for a delay. But both times the move came after the announcement, not before it. Rockstar and Take-Two decide, and the markets reprice.

How have the prices moved since the November 2025 delay?

Steadily towards the date. Kalshi's contract on a release by 31 December 2026 traded at 68 to 73 cents from mid-November 2025 to January 2026 and at 95 to 96 cents on 21 October 2026. Polymarket's price for another delay fell from 27.5% on 8 November 2025 to 3.25%, with one spike to 54.5% in its 12-hour samples on 10 January 2026. We found no cause for the spike and don't offer one.

The delay rumour briefing grades the 2027 claims behind talk of another slip: none comes from anyone with inside access.

Do the markets agree with Vice Atlas's own predictions?

They were higher on both days we staked. Our prediction ledger staked 55% on a 2026 release (pred-0003) on 1 June 2026, when Kalshi's contract on a release by 31 December traded at about 87 to 91 cents. That stake was written before the site had logged the 19 November date as official, which makes it the weaker comparison. On 14 July 2026 the ledger staked 80% that GTA VI is released exactly on 19 November (pred-0017, a referenced claim); Kalshi's end-2026 contract traded at about 89 to 90 cents that day and Polymarket's postponement contract implied about 7% for a delay.

The questions are not identical. Pred-0017 asks for exactly 19 November, and Polymarket's contract also resolves No for an earlier release. Neither prediction has resolved, and the ledger shows no accuracy figure until at least ten have. A stake closer to the outcome scores better, so the comparison can only be made after 19 November, and we'll set the markets' last prices beside our stakes then.

What has Take-Two said about the date?

The same thing since November 2025: 19 November 2026. Take-Two's 7 August 2026 earnings release cited GTA VI's launch on that date when it reiterated its full-year outlook. Our release-date history has every date and delay, and the earnings briefing reads what Take-Two said and didn't. Take-Two reports its next quarter before launch; one report puts it on 9 November, and we have not found Take-Two's own notice.

What can't a prediction market tell you about GTA VI?

Much of what readers want from it.

  • It can't confirm the date. A price is traders' belief, formed from public statements, including Rockstar's and Take-Two's own. It adds no evidence that Rockstar doesn't already have on record.
  • The contracts are small. Polymarket's 30 November contract held about 5,300 USD of liquidity, and Kalshi's best bid on its 30 November contract was for 9.95 contracts when we read it. In a market that thin, a few trades can move a price.
  • A few points mean little. At 95 cents, the gap between two platforms, or between today and yesterday, is a point or two. That is within the spread, not a signal.
  • Wording matters. "Released by 30 November" is not "released on 19 November", and Kalshi's rule and Polymarket's differ on what counts.
  • Insiders are barred, which is not the same as absent. Kalshi's rules forbid Rockstar staff and anyone with non-public information about the release from trading its contracts, and state that Rockstar has not endorsed them. A rule says nothing about how well it is kept.
  • Date is one question of several. Polymarket also lists contracts on GTA VI's launch price, Metacritic score and PC release. This page covers the release date only.

Does Vice Atlas take a position on trading?

No. We don't trade, advise on trading, say where to trade or recommend a contract, and nothing here is financial advice: Vice Atlas isn't a licensed advisor. We carry no referral codes, affiliate links or ads, and earn nothing from either platform. The references list the markets' own pages so you can read the rules for yourself. Whether you can trade on either platform depends on where you live, and that is for you and the platform to settle. Vice Atlas isn't affiliated with Kalshi, Polymarket, Rockstar or Take-Two.

When will this page be updated?

Whenever the picture changes, and never silently. This briefing is a dated snapshot, and a later update re-reads both platforms in full rather than adjusting the old numbers. A re-read records the contract list, each contract's rules text, the best bid, best ask and last trade, the volume and liquidity, and the time. We plan to re-read at the next Take-Two results, at the 12 November pre-load, on launch day, and after any official statement on the date. After 19 November the page becomes a record: what the markets said, set beside what happened and beside our two stakes.

Does a 95% price mean GTA VI will certainly release on 19 November?

No. It means traders on two small platforms think a release by 30 November is very likely. Both earlier delays were priced as unlikely until Rockstar and Take-Two announced them, and a price that tracks the public statements can't confirm them. The date is Rockstar's and Take-Two's to keep, and the markets price it without deciding it.

What changes this: An official change to the 19 November date from Rockstar or Take-Two, in either direction; either platform changing its rules or adding a contract on 19 November itself; and the launch, which settles every one of these contracts. Until then this page is only as current as its timestamp.

  • Confirmed Very High confidence

At about 17:40 UTC on 21 October 2026, Kalshi's GTA VI release-date contracts priced a release by 30 November at 94 to 95 cents on the dollar (last trade 94), by 31 December at 95 to 96 cents and by 31 October at 1 cent; the 30 November contract had traded about 1.0 million contracts since it opened on 12 May 2026.

  • Confirmed Very High confidence

At about 17:40 UTC on 21 October 2026, Polymarket's 'GTA VI released by...?' contracts priced a release by 30 November at about 97% (best bid 96.5 cents, best ask 98.4) and by 31 October at under 1%, and its separate 'GTA 6 launch postponed again?' contract priced a postponement before 19 November at 3.25%.

  • Confirmed Very High confidence

Kalshi's GTA VI release-date contracts pay out if the game 'has been released on a major platform (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Windows)' by the contract's date, counted from the first United States release date on any of the three; it must be the full release, not an alpha or beta, the contract resolves Yes if the announced date passes without any sign of a delay, and its source agency is Rockstar Games.

  • Confirmed Very High confidence

Polymarket's GTA VI release-date contracts resolve Yes if the game is 'publicly available for purchase or download in the US' by the listed date at 11:59 PM ET; early access, betas, other pre-release availability and leaks don't count, a release on only some consoles does, and the resolution source is official information from Rockstar Games or Take-Two.

  • Confirmed Very High confidence

On 21 October 2026 the two platforms' 31 October and 30 November release contracts shared a cut-off (11:59 PM ET) but not a definition: Kalshi counts a release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S or Windows and resolves Yes if the announced date passes without any sign of a delay, while Polymarket requires the game to be available to buy or download in the US; no Kalshi release-date contract ends on 19 November, and Polymarket's only one is its postponement question.

  • Confirmed Very High confidence

On 2 May 2025, Polymarket's 'GTA VI released in 2025?' contract was priced at 68.5% at 11:15 UTC and under 5% by 11:35 UTC, around Rockstar's post moving the game to 26 May 2026 (posted on X at 11:25 UTC); in the three days before it had traded between 62% and 77%.

  • Confirmed Very High confidence

On 6 November 2025, Polymarket's 'GTA VI released before June 2026?' contract was priced at 61% until 21:05 UTC and 10% five minutes later, and near 5% within the hour, and Kalshi's contract on a release by 31 December 2026 traded at 87 to 89 cents on 5 and 6 November before the announcement and between 70 and 80 cents through 7 November, after Take-Two's results release of 6 November moved the date to 19 November 2026.

  • Confirmed Very High confidence

Take-Two said the November 2025 GTA VI delay and Rockstar's dismissal of some 30 to 40 UK staff the week before were 'entirely separate', and its CEO said Rockstar believed 'a limited amount of additional time is required for polish'; reporters at Bloomberg and Insider Gaming, citing their own sources, also said the dismissals did not cause the delay.

  • Confirmed High confidence

Kalshi's contract on a release by 31 December 2026 traded at 68 to 73 cents from mid-November 2025 to January 2026 and at 95 to 96 cents by 21 October 2026, while the chance Polymarket's postponement contract gave to a delay fell from 27.5% on 8 November 2025 to 3.25% on 21 October 2026, with a high of 54.5% in its 12-hour samples on 10 January 2026.

  • Confirmed High confidence

When Vice Atlas staked its 2026 release prediction (pred-0003) at 55% on 1 June 2026, Kalshi's contract on a release by 31 December 2026 traded at about 87 to 91 cents; when it staked its exact-date prediction (pred-0017) at 80% on 14 July 2026, that contract traded at about 89 to 90 cents and Polymarket's postponement contract implied about 7% for a delay; neither prediction has resolved.

  • Confirmed Very High confidence

Grand Theft Auto VI is officially scheduled to release on 19 November 2026.

  • Confirmed Very High confidence

Take-Two named the Grand Theft Auto series among its largest fiscal Q1 2027 Net Bookings contributors and reiterated FY2027 guidance citing GTA VI's 19 November 2026 launch.

  • Confirmed High confidence

At the same snapshot, Polymarket's 30 November contract held 5,345 USD of liquidity and 103,125 USD of total volume, and the best Kalshi bid on its 30 November contract was for 9.95 contracts (the best ask for 1,044.66).

  • Confirmed Very High confidence

Kalshi's rules for its GTA VI release-date contracts bar people employed by Rockstar Games, its named source agency, from trading them and bar anyone who holds material non-public information about the release from trading, and say Rockstar has not endorsed the contracts and has no affiliation with Kalshi.

  • Inference High confidence

Grand Theft Auto VI will be commercially released exactly on 19 November 2026.

  • Inference High confidence

A prediction-market price for GTA VI's release date summarises what traders believe from public statements, including Rockstar's and Take-Two's own; it is not independent evidence that the date will hold, and no price makes 19 November certain.

  • Rumor Very Low confidence

Grand Theft Auto VI will be delayed from its 19 November 2026 release date into 2027.
