• May 2026. An anonymous 4chan post said the game would move to February 2027, with the PC version in May 2027, and that Take-Two would announce it on its earnings call the next day.
• June 2026. Social media posts repeated the 2027 claim. NateTheHate, an insider with a strong record on Rockstar timing, answered that unless something catastrophic happened, the game would "hit in November as planned".
• August 2026. A former Rockstar animator who left the studio in 2017 said another delay wouldn't shock him. He was clear he had no current inside knowledge.

That's the whole chain: anonymous posts, social media claims, and one opinion. No document, no named source inside the company, and no insider with a record backing it.

Did the May 2026 GTA VI delay leak come true?

No, and it set its own test. The 4chan post said the delay would be announced on Take-Two's earnings call on 21 May 2026. On that call, chief executive Strauss Zelnick said: "I think we've been really clear that we're releasing the title on November 19." We keep that claim on the record, marked contradicted, rather than deleting it.

What does the official record say about GTA VI's release date?

It has only got firmer since May:

• 21 May 2026: Take-Two's chief executive reaffirmed 19 November on the earnings call.
• 24 June 2026: Rockstar and Take-Two opened pre-orders, set digital pre-loading for 12 November, and set the boxed version's release for the same date.
• Now: the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Store both list the release for 19 November 2026.

Pre-load dates and store listings aren't promises that can't change. They are the kind of commitment a company doesn't set if it expects to move the date.

Could GTA VI still be delayed?

In the narrow sense, yes. Any game can slip until it ships, and GTA VI has been delayed twice already. That's why this rumour sits at Very Low rather than zero. But the rumour itself has nothing behind it, and the people with the best records on Rockstar's timing have said the opposite.
