What Take-Two's Q1 2027 earnings actually said about GTA VI

Take-Two's 7 August 2026 earnings release named the Grand Theft Auto series among its largest fiscal Q1 2027 contributors and reiterated full-year guidance citing GTA VI's November 19 launch. Corporate disclosure, not a Rockstar marketing beat. It states no price: that was already public from Take-Two's own 24 June pre-order announcement.

Rockstar's own channels aren't the only official source on GTA VI. Take-Two, the publisher, speaks too -- in a different voice, to a different audience, on its own schedule. Its 7 August 2026 earnings release is the latest example, and it's worth reading on its own terms.

Verdict: Confirmed: Take-Two's fiscal Q1 2027 earnings release names the Grand Theft Auto series among the quarter's largest Net Bookings contributors and reiterates full-year guidance citing GTA VI's 19 November 2026 launch. It states no price. GTA VI's price was already on the record from Take-Two's own 24 June 2026 pre-order announcement: $79.99, and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition.

The badges on this page rate the strength of this specific disclosure, not a broader confidence rating on GTA VI's commercial performance once it actually ships.

What did Take-Two's earnings say about GTA VI?

Take-Two reported results for the quarter ended 30 June 2026 -- the same window pre-orders opened in -- on 7 August 2026. Two things from it matter here:

The Grand Theft Auto series was named among the largest contributors to the quarter's $1.39 billion in total Net Bookings, months before the game itself has shipped. That reflects pre-order activity, not sales of a finished product.

CEO Strauss Zelnick's accompanying statement ties the company's reiterated fiscal-2027 outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion in Net Bookings partly to "excitement around the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI" -- an explicit, on-the-record connection between the financial guidance and the game's launch, from the company's own chairman and CEO.

Why do Take-Two's earnings count as official?

Same distinction this record keeps making: Rockstar's Newswire and Take-Two's investor disclosures are both first-party, and both official, but they aren't the same channel and they don't say the same kind of thing. An earnings release is written for investors under securities- disclosure rules, not for players. It confirms what it confirms -- financial figures and corporate commentary -- and nothing more.

Did Take-Two reveal GTA VI's price?

Not in this release, because it already had. The 7 August earnings release states no price for GTA VI or any edition. The price came six weeks earlier, in Take-Two's own press release of 24 June 2026, the day before pre-orders opened: $79.99 for the game and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. So a $79.99 figure in coverage of these earnings is correct, even though it isn't in the earnings release itself. The full editions-and-pricing record has its own briefing.

What's actually new from Take-Two's earnings?

A second, independent official channel reinforcing the same November 19 date already confirmed through Rockstar, plus a genuinely new fact: GTA VI is already a top revenue contributor before launch, on pre-orders alone. What it isn't is a pricing announcement. That came in June.

What changes this: A subsequent Take-Two earnings release or investor disclosure with new GTA VI figures. Price changes belong to the editions and pricing briefing, not this one.

Correction (19 Sep 2026): an earlier version of this page said a price figure circulating in coverage of this release wasn't tied to any dated, checkable Rockstar or Take-Two statement, and that pricing remained an open question. Both were wrong: the figure was Take-Two's own, from its 24 June 2026 pre-order press release.
