Is there a GTA VI Collector's Edition? Rockstar's $399.99 box has no game

Rockstar's GTA VI Collector's Box, The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, costs $399.99 and holds eleven collectibles but not the game, which is sold separately. What's in it, how to get one, and what September's leaked box photos most likely showed.

The GTA VI Collector's Box is real: Rockstar announced it on 24 September 2026. What isn't in it is the game.

Verdict: Confirmed, Very High confidence. Rockstar is selling Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, a limited Collector's Box of eleven collectibles, at $399.99 in the US, shipping from 19 November 2026. Rockstar says the game is sold separately, so this isn't an edition of GTA VI. That the box photos leaked in September showed this product is an inference, Moderate confidence.

These badges rate Rockstar's own announcement, the strongest claim on this page. The leak comparison has its own, lower grade. The photo at the top is Rockstar's product image of the box from its own store, not one of the leaked photos.

Is there a GTA VI Collector's Edition?

Not as an edition of the game. Rockstar sells a Collector's Box of merchandise, The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, and says the game is sold separately. The editions of the game itself are still the two announced in June: GTA VI at $79.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $99.99.

What's in the GTA VI Collector's Box?

Eleven items, built around Macca the Gator, a TV show in the game's state of Leonida:

  • a 6-inch Macca the Gator figure, with a stash compartment in its twist-open base
  • matte black Oakley Frogskins sunglasses with a pink GTAVI logo
  • a New Era 9FORTY snapback hat
  • a Leonida Keys crossbody bag
  • a Macca the Gator magnetic mirror
  • a Chunkee the Manatee shot glass
  • a Vice City swizzle spoon
  • a Vice City razor-blade keychain
  • nine Leonida Keys enamel pins in a metal tin
  • nine Leonida Keys stickers in a stash bag
  • a double-sided poster, with the full Leonida map on the back

It all comes in a black box, 19 x 13.5 x 12.5 inches, with the Vice City Leonida wordmark on the lid and the VI logo on the front. Rockstar's store sells it as adult collectibles, for ages 18 and up.

How much is the GTA VI Collector's Box?

$399.99 in the US, £349.99 in the UK and €399.99 in Europe. Pre-orders are open on the Rockstar Store while supplies last, limited to one per person, and you need a Rockstar Store account to buy one. It ships from 19 November 2026, launch day, to the United States, Canada, the UK and 20 European countries. Rockstar says details for Asia, Latin America and Australia will follow.

Because stock is limited, expect resale listings. A listing that promises this box with the game inside isn't something Rockstar sells.

Does the GTA VI Collector's Box include the game?

No. Rockstar's announcement and its store listing both say "Grand Theft Auto VI game sold separately", so the box holds no copy of the game. Rockstar did the same with Red Dead Redemption 2's Collector's Box, which also came without the game.

Were the leaked GTA VI Collector's Edition photos real?

Probably, and they most likely showed this box. Around 9 September, a person claiming to work at a Mexican packaging company posted photos of a large black box with the GTA VI title logo and Vice City Leonida branding, bigger than a PS5 box, then deleted them. Rockstar's Collector's Box is a large black box with those same two logos, and GamingBible, which reported the photos at the time, says the official box looks a lot like them.

Two things keep this an inference. The photos are gone, and nobody has put them next to Rockstar's product photos. And the contents list that followed only partly matches: it named a keyring, stickers and a cap, which are in the box, but also a welcome card and a T-shirt, which aren't. The poster also talked about a disc holder before walking it back.

On 19 September we graded it Rumor, Very Low confidence, and read the box as a press kit rather than something you could buy. We were right that no edition of the game was coming. The press-kit reading most likely wasn't: the box looks like a real product, and it went on sale five days later. The rumour stays on our record, marked as superseded by Rockstar's announcement.

The rumour's other source, a French retailer's document that listed Collector's and Ultimate Collector's editions of the game, still has nothing behind it. No such edition has been announced.

Could a GTA VI Collector's Edition with the game still come?

It could, but nothing points to one. Rockstar's collector's product is this box, sold without the game, and the two editions of the game haven't changed since June.

What changes this: Rockstar or Take-Two announcing an edition that bundles the game with collectibles would change the first answer on this page. The leaked photos resurfacing next to Rockstar's product photos, or Rockstar commenting on them, would settle the second.

Open the claim record — 2 claims
  • Confirmed Very High confidence

Rockstar Games is selling Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, a limited Collector's Box of merchandise that ships from 19 November 2026 and does not include the game.

  • Inference Moderate confidence

The large black box in the photos that leaked around 9 September 2026 was most likely the packaging of Rockstar's Vice City Collection, which holds merchandise and no game.
