Is there a GTA VI PS5 bundle? What exists, and what doesn't

GTA VI launches on 19 November 2026, and one of the questions people type is whether there is a PS5 to go with it. There isn't an official one. There is a Sony console launching the same day that isn't a bundle, and two UK retailers, EE and O2, that sell their own pairs.

Verdict: Confirmed: as of 23 October 2026, no maker has announced a GTA VI console bundle. Sony's blog, its US and Japanese stores and Microsoft's console pages list none. Confirmed: Sony's Midnight Black PS5, on sale in Japan on 19 November, is not one: it comes with a controller and no game, and works only with a Japan-region account. Confirmed: two UK retailers, EE and O2, sell console-and-game pairs, which are discounts and payment plans on separate products. Rumor, Low confidence: Sony will sell GTA VI console bundles of its own.

Is there an official GTA VI PS5 bundle?

No, not as of 23 October 2026, and a search on 28 October found no later announcement. The posts tagged Grand Theft Auto VI on PlayStation Blog cover the two limited DualSense controllers, a joint marketing post from 24 June and a list of 2026 games; none announces a console. Sony's own US store, read on 22 October, listed three new PS5 models and one bundle, for Marvel's Wolverine. Microsoft's Xbox console pages don't mention a GTA VI bundle either, though those pages are partly built by script, so we say none was found, not that none exists.

Rockstar and Take-Two have announced two editions of the game and a Collector's Box of merchandise that holds no game. That was 27 days before launch when we looked, so this is an absence, not a promise.

What is Sony's Midnight Black PS5?

A new colour of Sony's Japan-only PS5 Digital Edition, on sale in Japan on 19 November 2026 for 55,000 yen including tax, about $350. Sony's Japanese blog post announced it on 13 October, pre-orders opened on 20 October, and the product page labels it limited quantity. The box holds the console, one DualSense controller and the pre-installed Astro's Playroom. It does not hold a game.

It works only with a PlayStation account set to Japan and a Japanese system language. A matching Midnight Black disc drive is a separate product on sale the same day.

Is the Midnight Black PS5 a GTA VI bundle?

No. Sony's announcement and product page give it no GTA VI game, code, edition or design. Sony's post names Grand Theft Auto VI once, in a closing line about games due around the same time. Headlines say the console launches "alongside GTA 6", which is true of the date. GamesRadar also wrote that Sony may announce something for the west later, such as a bundle or special-edition panels. That is the writer's expectation, not a Sony statement.

Can you buy a PS5 together with GTA VI anywhere?

At two UK retailers we found, yes. EE, a mobile network and online retailer, sells PS5 and Xbox consoles together with GTA VI at a small discount. Its release of 6 July 2026 lists three pairs:

The game on its own was £68. GamesRadar reported the two PS5 pairs on 25 June, the day pre-orders opened. On 23 October EE's page for the PS5 Pro pair showed £843 with a saving of £14.99, the White console was out of stock, and the game's own page said it was out of stock too. EE changes prices and stock, so check its page.

These are two products priced together, a console and a game code in a box, not a new product. The bonus is the same Vintage Vice City Pack every buyer gets.

The second is Virgin Media O2. On 22 October it opened pre-orders for two PS5 bundles with GTA VI, a payment plan more than a discount:

Both ship from 12 November and are open to O2 and non-O2 customers, subject to a credit check. The shipping date is for the console: the game still unlocks on 19 November, and nothing in O2's release suggests early access. "Disc" describes the console model, and O2's release doesn't say which edition of the game is included. Its release names PlayStation 5 and not Sony.

Are EE's and O2's pairs a Sony bundle?

As far as we can tell, no. EE presents them as its own savings for buying a console and the game together and credits no maker; O2 sells its own plans and credits none either. GamesRadar wrote that it had assumed console bundles were off the table after Sony's price rises, which fits a retailer's deal, not a Sony programme.

The pairs do match the shape an insider described in May: a standard PS5 and a PS5 Pro, with GTA VI as a download code. The post didn't say who would sell them, and nothing we found shows the insider meant EE or O2, or that Sony supplied the pairs.

Do other retailers sell a GTA VI console bundle?

None that we found beyond EE and O2. On 22 and 23 October, Best Buy, GameStop, Argos and Fnac listed GTA VI as a game, and Best Buy, Argos and Fnac also listed the limited DualSense, with no console sold together with the game. Best Buy did list console bundles for other games: God of War Ragnarök, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, NBA 2K26, Marvel's Wolverine and Fortnite. We read search results, not whole catalogues, and Amazon's pages wouldn't load completely from our setup, so we say nothing about Amazon. A retailer elsewhere may run pairs of its own; we only report what we read.

What was the GTA VI PS5 bundle rumour?

That Sony's marketing deal would bring console bundles. The insider DetectiveSeeds said in July 2025 that several GTA VI and PS5 bundles would come in Sony's next marketing push, and on 14 May 2026 that there would be two, one with a standard PS5 and one with a PS5 Pro, with GTA VI as a download code. Neither post said who would sell them. The same insider said in 2025 that the PS5 Pro would run GTA VI at 60 frames per second, which the evidence since hasn't supported.

The marketing deal itself is real. A bundle hasn't followed: Sony's channels list none, its Japanese console ships without the game, and its one US bundle is for another game. We lowered the rumour's confidence from 30 to 20 on 23 October. Rumor, Low confidence.

Is there a GTA VI PS5 Pro bundle?

Only EE's; O2's two bundles are the standard PS5, digital or disc. Sony's US store lists the PS5 Pro at $899 and the game is a separate $79.99 purchase. The PlayStation Store labels GTA VI "PS5 Pro Enhanced", and Rockstar hasn't said what the enhancement is. The game is announced for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; the Pro label says some Pro enhancement exists, not that you need one.

What can you buy together on 19 November?

Nothing arrives in one box. You put it together: the game, a controller and a console.

The game's prices are Take-Two's and Rockstar's; the controllers are Sony's and sold out at several US retailers within a day of pre-orders opening; the console prices are the ones Sony's US store listed on 22 October. Other countries' prices are in the price-by-country briefing.

Every pre-order, and every purchase made before 20 November, includes the Vintage Vice City Pack. Digital pre-orders also include a month of GTA+ and can pre-load from 12 November. Boxed copies reach shops from the same day.

Do you need a disc drive to play GTA VI?

No. The boxed version holds a download code and no disc, so a console without a disc drive, such as the PS5 Digital Edition, can use it. Whether a disc version will ever follow is the question of the disc briefing.

Is GTA VI a PlayStation exclusive?

No. It launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on the same day, and EE's Xbox Series X pair shows the same game sold with a console on both sides. Sony's marketing deal explains the PlayStation branding; the exclusivity briefing covers it.

Will Sony still announce a GTA VI PS5 bundle before launch?

We can't tell. Nothing we found says it will, and it would be late, with under three weeks left. Sony's new hardware for the date so far is a pair of controllers and a Japan-only console without the game. Against that, Sony does sell game bundles, and its US store's one is for Marvel's Wolverine, and the insider has now twice said one is coming. The rumour stays at Rumor, Low confidence. Until Sony says otherwise, the only GTA VI console pairs are retailers' own, and Midnight Black is not one.

What changes this: Sony, Microsoft, Rockstar or Take-Two announcing a GTA VI console bundle or a special-edition console; Sony or Microsoft confirming they supplied a retailer's pairs; or Midnight Black going on sale outside Japan. If 19 November passes without a maker's bundle, the rumour is settled.
