Is Tommy Vercetti in GTA VI? Every Vice City callback so far

GTA VI goes back to Vice City, the city Tommy Vercetti took over in 2002's Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The obvious question is whether he's still there.

Verdict: Speculation, Very Low confidence: Tommy Vercetti appears in GTA VI. Confirmed by Rockstar: two items nod to him, the Ultimate Edition's revolvers "sourced from the Vercetti Estate" and a pre-order weapon pattern based on his palm-tree shirt. Neither says he exists in GTA VI's world. Confirmed: one character from GTA Online does carry over.

Is Tommy Vercetti in GTA VI?

There's no sign of it. Rockstar has published profiles for Jason, Lucia and six supporting characters, and Tommy isn't among them. No trailer, screenshot or interview mentions him, and no insider has claimed he appears. The hope is old; the Ultimate Edition's "Vercetti Estate" line revived it in June. The actor who voiced him, Ray Liotta, has since died. Speculation, Very Low confidence.

What is the Vercetti Estate reference in GTA VI?

A line in Rockstar's own description of the Ultimate Edition: the Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers are "His and hers versions of this powerful revolver with classic Vice City stylings sourced from the Vercetti Estate". In the 2002 game, the Vercetti Estate is the mansion Tommy seizes and runs his empire from. It's the most direct nod to him so far. It suggests the name still means something in Leonida; it doesn't say whether Tommy does.

What other Vice City references are in GTA VI?

A handful, all in Rockstar's own copy:

• Tommy's shirt. The Vintage Vice City Pack, for pre-orders and purchases before 20 November, includes a weapon pattern based on Tommy Vercetti's palm-tree shirt, alongside a pastel linen suit and 1980s hairstyle for Jason and a red sequin dress for Lucia.
• Old district names. Ocean Beach and Washington Beach, both districts of the 2002 game's Vice City, appear in Rockstar's edition copy. Where they sit on the new map isn't known.
• The look of 1986. The pre-order pack's name, its '55 Vapid Stanier and its outfits are built on the 1980s Vice City that Tommy's game was set in.

Are any characters from older GTA games in GTA VI?

One, and from GTA Online rather than Vice City. Valentina, who hires Jason and Lucia as security in the Extended Look, has been identified by two outlets as a character from GTA Online's 2025 Money Fronts update, by name, appearance and a matching facial mole. She's the first carried-over character on this record. Rockstar's profiled supporting cast is otherwise new.

Could Tommy Vercetti still turn up?

Anything can appear in a game nobody has played yet, and Rockstar likes its references. But a mansion name on a revolver and a shirt pattern are callbacks, not casting. On everything published, the new Vice City has new people running it.

What changes this: Rockstar showing or naming Tommy Vercetti, or the released game on 19 November 2026.
