Briefing Map & World Updated Updated
Is Wynwood in GTA VI? Stockyard, the street artists and the Wynwood Walls deal
Yes, under another name. Stockyard, a part of Vice City that Rockstar had already named, is based on Miami's Wynwood, according to Dazed's feature with Rockstar's team and to Wynwood Walls, Rockstar's new partner in the neighbourhood. On 13 October the museum made entry free for Miami-Dade residents through 2028 and put up ten murals of art made for the game. What Stockyard holds in the game hasn't been described.
Wynwood, Miami's street-art district, has a double in GTA VI called Stockyard. Since 13 October the real one also has ten murals of art made for the game, and its best-known museum is free for locals.
Verdict: Confirmed, High confidence: GTA VI's Stockyard, a part of Vice City, is modelled on Miami's Wynwood. Dazed, writing from interviews with Rockstar's team, says it is based on Wynwood; Wynwood Walls, Rockstar's partner, says it was inspired by the museum. Confirmed, Very High confidence: Wynwood Walls is free for Miami-Dade residents from 13 October 2026 through 2028, with Rockstar as its presenting partner, and ten murals of art commissioned for the game stay up until 1 January 2027. Not known: how big Stockyard is, where its edges are, or what you can do there.
Is Wynwood in GTA VI?
Yes, as Stockyard. The game doesn't use the name Wynwood, but two separate voices say Stockyard is its version of it. Dazed's feature on GTA VI, written from interviews with Rockstar's team and online since late August, says more than 50 street artists designed murals "in places like Vice City's Stockyard (based on Wynwood, Miami)". On 13 October Wynwood Walls, the outdoor museum at the heart of the real neighbourhood, said the game "features an area inspired by Wynwood Walls – called Stockyard – within Vice City".
The two differ slightly: Dazed names the neighbourhood, the museum names itself. Rockstar has not said it on its own channels.
What is Stockyard in GTA VI?
A named part of Vice City, and so far not much more. Rockstar named Stockyard itself before either announcement, in its own description of the Ultimate Edition. That copy places one shop there: Stock 305, "Stockyard's premier destination for elevated streetwear", one of five shops that open only with the Ultimate Edition.
The first trailer signposts it too. A highway sign over the causeway into the city reads "Stockyard/Downtown", as Miami New Times spotted in 2023. That sign is also the only place "Downtown" turns up: Rockstar hasn't named a downtown district in its own copy.
Everything else is unknown. Rockstar hasn't shown a map of Stockyard, said how big it is, where it sits in Vice City, which buildings you can enter, or what missions happen there. A real neighbourhood's layout is no guide to a game's.
Who painted GTA VI's murals?
Real street artists, and more than one count is going around. Dazed reported that more than 50 were brought in to design murals for the game. Wynwood Walls names ten artists whose work is in the game, and says they join "a myriad of additional street and tattoo artists" curated by 1XRUN, an agency in Detroit. The museum's merchandise carries art by 15.
These numbers count different things: mural artists, the museum's mural line-up and its shop. They don't add up to one total, and nobody has published the full list. One artist has a separate credit from Rockstar: the collective FAILE designed the 50-plus tattoos at Electric Fang Tattoo, another Ultimate Edition shop.
What is the Wynwood Walls deal with Rockstar?
Free entry for locals, paid for by a partnership with Rockstar. From 13 October 2026 through 2028, any Miami-Dade County resident with a photo ID showing a county address gets into Wynwood Walls free, through a free digital membership. Children under 12 are always free. Visitors from elsewhere still pay, 12 US dollars for an adult.
The museum calls Rockstar its "presenting partner" and hasn't given the terms. Rockstar's Newswire hadn't mentioned the deal by 21 October.
This is a private deal with a museum. It is separate from the advertising deals Rockstar has made with Miami-Dade County, Miami Beach and the City of Miami for signs, beach chairs and banners, and from the Miami Heat's Vice City night. Our briefing "Is Miami becoming Vice City?" covers those.
Where are the GTA VI murals in Wynwood?
On the street, until 1 January 2027. Ten murals of art commissioned for GTA VI went up to launch the partnership. Tristan Eaton's is on the Wynwood Walls campus; the other nine are on walls around the neighbourhood. The artists are ATOMIK and Tatiana Suarez, both from Miami, Askew One, DENIAL, FAILE, Gons and Audet, Lady AIKO, Queen Andrea, Ron English and Tristan Eaton.
The announcement doesn't give the nine outside walls' addresses, or say which places in the game show each artwork.
Is there GTA VI merch from Wynwood Walls?
Yes, on pre-order. The museum's shop opened pre-orders for "The Art of Vice City" on 13 October: 88 products, from T-shirts and caps to towels and puzzles, each carrying one of 15 artists' in-game art, and sold only through Wynwood Walls. It hasn't given shipping dates. Vice Atlas has no link with the shop.
Are there other GTA VI murals?
One more that we know of. Around 1 October a hand-painted GTA VI mural began going up in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, at a corner reportedly used for GTA V's mural in 2013. Outlets read it as part of Rockstar's campaign, in the series' habit of painted building ads, but Rockstar hasn't commented on it. Wynwood is different in kind: the artists are the game's own, and the partner has named Rockstar.
Is Little Cuba in GTA VI?
Yes, as a named Vice City neighbourhood. Rockstar named it when it described Vice City in May 2025, and Dazed's feature mentions "Vice City's Little Cuba" again. That it echoes Miami's Little Havana is a natural reading; Rockstar hasn't said so. As with Stockyard, nothing describes its size or what is there.
What is still unknown about Wynwood in GTA VI?
Almost everything about the place itself. We know the name, Stockyard, that it is in Vice City, that a streetwear shop opens there in the Ultimate Edition, and that real street artists made its murals. We don't know its size, its streets or what you do there. The game comes out on 19 November, the murals stay up until 1 January and the free entry runs through 2028. This page will add what Rockstar or the game itself shows.
What changes this: Rockstar describing or showing Stockyard itself, in a trailer, screenshot or Newswire post; the game's release on 19 November, when players can see it; or new murals, dates or terms from Wynwood Walls. Each would be logged here.
