One of GTA VI's two playable protagonists. Rockstar's profile has him raised around grifters and crooks, working for drug runners in the Keys after a stint in the Army, and looking for a way into something else.

What isn't established

The published record names Jason Duval and describes the role above. It does not establish appearance, fate, or how much of the game they appear in, and no mission structure has been confirmed for anyone. Those stay off this page until something official states them.

Vice Atlas classifies the claims behind each character; the character record itself carries no truth label of its own. See our methodology.

The GTA VI campaign so far: a reveal-cadence retrospective

How Rockstar has run the GTA VI campaign: sparse official beats, long silences, a release date that moved from a 2025 window to 19 November 2026, a pre-order opening, and a 26-minute Extended Look given to Netflix six hours early — reconstructed from the confirmed record only.

Who you play as: Jason and Lucia

Every official GTA VI trailer and presentation, and what Rockstar showed

Official GTA VI media — two trailers and a 26-minute Extended Look — established most of what's known: the setting, the two leads, and open-world action in Leonida with both protagonists playable. What the footage plainly shows, and the line where frame-reading takes over.

GTA VI gameplay: what Rockstar has actually shown

Official GTA VI media plainly shows open-world action in Leonida — driving, on-foot play, and both protagonists under player control with switching between them. Everything about how the systems beneath that work — missions, combat, progression, depth — remains officially undetailed.

Money in Leonida: the economy question

Businesses, property, investments — Rockstar has officially detailed none of GTA VI's economy. The Extended Look shows the leads taking paid work, which is a story premise rather than a money system; the systems cluster is still empty on the record.

Who else is in GTA VI: Rockstar's confirmed supporting cast

Beyond Jason and Lucia, Rockstar has published official profiles for six more acts — Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest, Real Dimez, Raul Bautista and Brian Heder. Who they are on first-party evidence, the record-label thread binding three of them together, which ones turned up in the Extended Look, and three more names from the same footage -- Raymond, Ernesto and Mendez.

The Megamundo job: a new story thread from the Extended Look

The Extended Look's second half follows a private-security gig gone wrong: Valentina -- on this record, GTA VI's first returning GTA Online character -- hires Jason and Lucia to protect a Megamundo executive through his company's headquarters opening, which an armed break-in interrupts. What's corroborated, what's single-source, and a location name (Bayside) whose place on the map remains unresolved.
